01. Family.
I've drawn Zuko and Katara quite a bit.
In all kinds of situations.
I've drawn them in the "family way" before.
I wanted to focus on the intimate moments shared between family members. When you can be your-self.
Unguarded.

I still don't have internet at home. So I drove back to work, through blacked-out traffic lights, to post this in time!
Do you want to know WHY?
Because, you guys are like family.
And, I would do that for family.

This is so heartwarming, and I agree with another of the commentors here that it has a charmingly old-fashioned look, in a way, I guess because it resembles sepia photos....
I especially love the grandfathers.
It's wonderful to see Hakoda getting to be one, and above all the picture of Iroh lifting his granddaughter in the air made my heart melt. I know I'm biased because Uncle Iroh is my favorite character, but really, it's not just that--it's also the way you drew him and the child. There is such gentle love and joy in their pose.
